My name is Sarah and I am a senior in high school, class of 2013, who is enrolled in the International Baccalaureate program through my high school, Vista High School. Most people have not heard about the IB program before, but in short, it is alot like the AP program in terms of rigor and the 'big test' at the end of the year. However, it has a series of smaller things attached to it as well such as: internal assessments (projects), oral presentations, the Extended Essay, Theory of Knowledge class, and finally CAS. It has probably become evident that this program is not a piece of cake, it is not easy and the program is quite demanding (I rarely sleep). However, if you put in the effort and show the will to persevere, the results are highly rewarding.
Creativity. Action. Service. Otherwise known as CAS, is a major component to the International Baccalaureate program. 50 hours are needed in each category to complete the IB CAS requirements. I created this blog to electronically record all of my experiences in community servicewhile trying to complete all of my CAS hours as well as post pictures of events. Basically its a blog about the trials and triumphs of community service through creativity, actions and service, and life as a full AP/IB high school student.
